One of those standout albums is by Heather Little. She was born in north-central Texas, and grew up around Austin and Dallas with all the music that thrives there. This year saw the release of her second full-length album 'Buy Now' and that in a career that stretches back more than twenty years.

One of those standout albums is by Heather Little. She was born in north-central Texas, and grew up around Austin and Dallas with all the music that thrives there. This year saw the release of her second full-length album 'Buy Now' and that in a career that stretches back more than twenty years.
Another standout album of the year is by Canadian singer/songwriter Lori Yates. Toronto's legendary after-hours watering hole The Matador has long gone, and Lori Yates payed homage to the Matador club made famous in Leonard Cohen's song 'Closing Time'.
