Mark Knopfler's song "Sailing to Philadelphia" explores the historical journey of the two English surveyors, Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon, who created the famous border, the Mason-Dixon Line, the symbolic boundary that still denotes the divide between the Northern and Southern United States.
